Ways to Give

Friendly House LA has been volunteer driven since it was established in 1951. Whether they participate as a board member, in a special event, or as a speaker or driver, volunteers are the heart and soul of Friendly House LA.

Friendly House LA needs volunteer drivers to take the residents to meetings, appointments, etc. at both the Normandie and Castle Heights houses. A current California driver’s license and proof of insurance are required. Drivers are needed for both day and evening trips. We also need facilitators – both ongoing and back up - to do Big Book and 12 & 12 step study groups. Facilitators must be sober for one year.

Volunteers are needed for special events that occur throughout the year. We need your talents for event day guest registration, silent auction, and valet parking (valid California driver’s license and proof of insurance are required). These are just a few of the opportunities so let us know if you have a skill or talent to share. Volunteers who express an interest are contacted with specific opportunities as event dates approach.

Regardless of the amount of time that you are able to give, your caring and involvement are priceless to Friendly House LA's residents.
